Your Named Accountable GP

From 1 April 2015, practices are required to allocate a named, accountable GP to all patients, including children. Your named GP will be responsible for your overall care at the practice and take responsibility for coordinating other medical services you may need here as part of your care.

If you are over 75, your named GP will also work with other relevant health and social care professionals to ensure you receive the best all-round care to match your specific health needs. They will ensure you also have access to a health check.

Patients can contact the practice at any time to find out who their named GP is, and we will make reasonable efforts to take into account any preference you may have, though we can not guarantee you will be allocated your GP of choice.

If you do not wish to have a named accountable GP, simply let us know so we can record this in your patient record.

Publication of Net GP Earnings

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in Ridge Medical Practice in the last financial year was £85,723 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 6 full time GPs, 10 part time GPs and 2 locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
