Open Access Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy can provide important health benefits.

The Physiotherapist holds an open access ‘Drop In’ surgery. No appointment is required and you do not have to have seen the GP beforehand.

The Open Access surgery is held between 1:00pm – 3:15pm on Wednesday afternoons at our Great Horton surgery.

Community Health Trainers
Medical issues are just one aspect of wellbeing – many things affect our health, and this is where our Community Health Trainers can help with everything from bereavement advice through to stress, parenting, housing and occupational issues.

Our Community Health Trainers form part of a social prescribing project which allows people to discuss their non-medical needs with someone who can spend longer with them than primary health care staff are able to.

This is one of only a few schemes in the country looking at a more holistic approach to health care, taking into account that medicine and tablets cannot cure all problems. The Health Trainers look at the social needs of our patients, which can have a serious effect on individual well-being. To access our Community Health Trainers, ask your doctor, nurse or health visitor. You can also refer yourself to this service – just ask at Reception.

Benefits Advisors
We have a Benefits Advisor who attends the surgery at Great Horton on a Monday afternoon and at Wibsey on a Tuesday afternoon.

They can provide professional advice and support in all areas, from initial advice on all types of benefits through to assistance with completion of claim forms.

To make an appointment with the Benefits Advisors, just ask at Reception.
