The Ridge Medical Practice Health Champions Highlighted Achievements for 2019

Every week during the year the Practice Health Champions are working tirelessly on behalf of The Ridge Medical Practice, helping out daily in the waiting rooms at Cousen Road and Smith Avenue, sharing patient self-care information and running regular sessions for chairobics, walking groups, healthy eating, knit and natter.

In addition to all of that they raise lots of money for various charities every year and make regular donations both locally and nationally.

Below is a list of their Highlights from 2019 that I wanted to share with you all to celebrate their massive success and ongoing involvement.

  • Arranged the recruitment and training of several new Champions
  • Supported flu Clinics at Cousen Road and Wibsey.
  • Raised £438 at Christmas raffle for Yorkshire air ambulance
  • To date the Knit and Natter group have raised and donated a total of £4,350 to various charities which includes £100 each year to Poppy Day appeal
  • Organised and ran the McMillan Coffee Morning in Cousen Road reception, Raising  £384
